Moapa Arts Guild works featured at Lost City Museum in April

OVERTON, Nevada – Artwork from the Moapa Valley Art Guild is the featured exhibit at the Lost City Museum for the month of April.

The Guild will present a varied media collection of fine arts and crafts featuring paintings in watercolor and oils and hand-made decorative gourds and cards.  Many of the featured items are one-of-a-kind. The pieces featured in the exhibit are available for purchase.

The Moapa Valley Art Guild was formed in 1958 by a former Moapa Valley High School art teacher, Max Bunnell. The interest of the surrounding community in the arts was instrumental in creating and sustaining the Art Guild.

The Guild now holds a number of exhibits and events, during the year including fundraisers to finance art scholarships for Moapa Valley High School students and a Pomegranate Festival which is scheduled to be held Nov. 2-3 in Logandale. The Lost City Museum actively engages people in understanding and celebrating Nevada’s natural and cultural heritage. One of seven museums managed by the Nevada Division of Museums and History, an agency of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, it is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily at 721 S. Moapa Valley Blvd., Overton. Admission is $5, children 17 and younger and members enter free. Take Interstate 15 north to exit 93.
