There and Back Again: A Tale of a Lake’s Return to a River

Presentation about Lake Mead’s history, present day, and projected future as it relates to water, cultural resources, submerged resources, and cultural resource management.

Chris Nycz is the Cultural Resource Manager of Lake Mead National Recreation Area since June 2022. She has over twenty years experience as an archeologist in the Midwest, Great Plains, and Southwest. She has worked for the National Park Service, and previously worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and for the state of Illinois conducting archeological investigations and cultural compliance work.
